Workshop Repair Services Disclaimer and Policy

At Chargd, our primary commitment is to ensure that every e-scooter, ebike or emoto we service is safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive, responsible maintenance and reserve the right to refuse any job that compromises these standards.

Service and Safety Commitment

Fit for Purpose

We are obligated to return any e-scooter, ebike or emoto in a condition that ensures it is both safe and fully functional. This means we do not perform isolated repairs—such as tyre changes—on vehicles with critical safety issues like faulty brakes.

All vehicles must meet basic safety and operational standards before they leave our workshop.

Duty of Care

Our responsibility is to ensure that all repairs and servicing contribute to the overall safety and functionality of the vehicle. We take this duty seriously and apply it to every job undertaken.

Right to Refuse Service

Chargd reserves the right to decline any job if we determine that the vehicle cannot be made safe and roadworthy.

We will not carry out partial repairs that ignore serious safety concerns. For example, if an e-scooter or bike has inoperative brakes, we will not proceed with other minor services unless the braking system is also addressed.

General Service Recommendations

For any e-scooter, ebike or emoto that has not undergone a general service within the last 12 months, we recommend a comprehensive inspection and necessary maintenance.
While each case is considered individually, we reserve the right to refuse service if a customer declines reasonable safety-related recommendations.

Repair Liability Disclaimer

Chargd shall not be held liable for temporary or substandard repairs—commonly referred to as "Band-Aid" solutions—where more durable and effective alternatives were advised but declined.

As most repair work cannot be guaranteed for a specific duration of use without the risk of failure, Chargd does not accept liability for such outcomes.

Collection and Storage Policy

Repair jobs not collected within 30 days of completion will be deemed abandoned and disposed of, incurring a $100 disposal fee.

After notifying the customer of job completion, Chargd allows 14 days for pickup.
From the 15th day onwards, a storage fee of $10 per day will apply until the vehicle is collected.

Job Completion Terms

If a repair is completed and the addressed issue does not recur within 30 days, the job is deemed successful. Any recurrence beyond this timeframe will be treated as a new job.
This does not apply to general services such as puncture repairs or brake adjustments.

Scope of Responsibility

Chargd is only responsible for the specific repairs authorised by the customer.
For example, if a customer books a brake service, Chargd will not be held accountable for unrelated issues present in the vehicle at the time of return.

By adhering to these policies, Chargd ensures the highest standards of safety, transparency, and service quality for all customers.

Thank you for choosing Chargd for your vehicle maintenance needs.
